You're probably wondering why I think there's anything good in this book I don't know! It's a super-engrossing read, and a super-disturbing read. REALLY I'M NOT KIDDING! This annoyed me a lot could have we maybe had a realistic heroine? As for the hero, one moment he's such a prude, at other moments he's totally a bad boy. According to this book, being bipolar gives you nerves of steal, helps you be super-sexy and outgoing, and is just a blast! And of course our heroine doesn't have to take medicine if she doesn't feel like it. What's more, I never knew being bipolar was so much fun! The heroine, in theory, is bipolar - but that's just one of a long list of diagnosis. This should not be a YA book, because while YA often does mean books for young adults, it also means books for twelve-year olds! And older readers could use some warning there are some very gory scenes in this book that made my stomach turn (I have to say the goriest I've read in a YA and in most adult books!), lots of casual sex, a mother who, if she isn't a hooker, just sleeps with everyone (and kills people). In fact, I'd label it OLDER teens and adults only. I've read hundreds of novels (literally) and very few have grabbed me like Bleeding Violet.īut the thing about this book is, it's fiction. Considering that I read most of it today, when there were a lot of other things I should have been doing, I'll say it was a VERY engrossing read.
